DTC - Dossier to China

Sorry for the delay in updating but there has been very little to report.  We had been waiting for USCIS to approve our home study and process our fingerprints.  We finally received that approval at the end of April and sent our remaining documents off to be certified by the Secretary of State and authenticated by the Chinese Consulate in Chicago.

We crossed a significant milestone this past week.  We are officially through what is commonly known as the "paper chase."  All of the documents that make up our Dossier  have been sent to China for processing.  This is a huge relief!  We are about a month later than what we had hoped, but still in very good shape.  Now we are back to the waiting game while our documents are translated, processed, and approved by the Chinese government (CCCWA-China Center for Children's Welfare and Adoption).  The estimated timeframe for this approval is July.  Then we hope to be traveling to China sometime during November.
